Canon Andrew White GCStG:The United Kingdom Grand Priory of the Knightly Order Valiant of St. George is delighted to announce that Canon Andrew White (“The Vicar of Baghdad”) has been appointed a Knight Grand Cross of the Order and has graciously accepted the position of Spiritual Protector. The Reverend Canon Andrew White is vicar of St George's Church, Baghdad, the only Anglican Church in Iraq. He has thus been dubbed the "Vicar of Baghdad". Canon Andrew has been widely recognised for his immensely important inter faith work, along with his Christian outreach to the people of Iraq. He has been awarded:
Canon Andrew was invested at Rochester Cathedral on May 21st 2011. He “succeeds” former Bishop of Rochester Rt. Rev Dr. Michael Nazir-Ali as Spiritual Protector. The Order looks forward to working closely with Canon Andrew and extends a very fond and special thanks to Rt. Rev Dr. Michael Nazir-Ali for all of his wonderful work and support.
