Congratulations to Chevalier Ron Hughes

Congratulations goes to Chev. Ron Hughes KStG who today received the Freedom of London at a ceremony at Guildhall.

One of the oldest surviving traditional ceremonies still in existence today is the granting of the Freedom of the City of London. It is believed that the first Freedom was presented in 1237.

Chev. Ron was joined by wife Joan and son, as well as Grand Herald Steve Nimmons KCStG. Connections to the Order of St. George continue, as Chev. Ron was proposed for the Freedom by Grand Prior Simon McIlwaine KCStG +.
