Who's Who: Simon McIlwaine GCStGGrand Prior Simon McIlwaine GCStG graduated with a MA in law from Sidney Sussex College, University of Cambridge, and is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel.

He is passionately in favour of voluntarism and civil defence, being a qualified first aider with St John Ambulance, the holder of an OFCOM radio licence and an officer in a volunteer yeomanry/civil defence corps in London. He is keen on developing support for Lowland Search and Rescue organisations and, through the Corps St Lazarus International, Lowland Search Dogs Kent. He is on the Court of the Worshipful Company of Framework Knitters and is a Liveryman in the Clockmakers Livery Company. He has been involved in Anglican-Jewish interfaith work for several years and regularly worships at St Giles in the Fields, Central London. Simon has also written and lectured on a wide range of public policy /geopolitical issues and is a member of the Association for Intelligence Officers. Committed to the welfare of serving and former military personnel, he is a member of the Connaught Rangers’ Association, the Combined Irish Regiments’ Old Comrades Association and the Ulster Special Constabulary Association and has been instrumental in forging close relationships between the Knightly Order Valiant of St. George and the Army, in particular with affiliated Regiment, 3PWRR. He was appointed a Kentucky Colonel in 2009 and a Knight Grand Officer of the Order of the Eagle of Georgia in 2010.
